As hard as it is to believe, the summer is now officially over and fall is upon us. I know this because I went out to sunbathe by the pool today and saw that it has been closed and the cover secured atop. The scattering of orange and brown leaves across it was an indicator too, as was the fact that I was freezing my backside off.
Well, Good Riddance! I say! I love the holiday season and Halloween is always the first step towards Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas, and New Year. Therefore, let us prepare to make merry and make this the most wonderful holiday season of all. One way you'll be able to accomplish this is to put your military surplus to good use, especially during Halloween... Here's how:
1. Set up a haunted house. There is nothing the neighborhood kids love more on trick or treat night than to have an adventure beyond that of getting free candy. Therefore, why not be the neighborhood hero and set your tent up to give them the thrill of a scary haunted house?
2. Offer a place to get warm.I don't know where you're from, but here in Ohio it gets cold on Halloween night sometimes. One of the things I have found to do with my military surplus tent is to set up a place for a bit of a respite in the form of fresh, hot donuts and hot chocolate and coffee for the trick or treaters and their parents.(Yes I still give out candy too) .
3. A shelter from the storm. If, in the unfortunate event, that you have bad weather on Halloween night, it will be wonderful to have a place of shelter for the little ones so that their cute little costumes don't get wet and ruined.
